Because this is only my first post I thought I would write about my artistic thoughts regarding the process of doing art. I love to paint and draw beautiful subjects. That seems to be my ongoing theme. I enjoy sticking to my focus ideas. But there are times when the process goes a little haywire. The process is either too slow or too fast, too weak or too strong, too interesting or too boring, etc. But when everything goes with a certain flow, everything works! I think that is what drives me and other artists to continue painting – in spite of these annoying interruptions of flow. I would like to hear from other artists on this important subject…Here is my latest painting when I felt the flow experience.

hi pam
i understand your comments about flow – my mentor from a while ago said painting is like breathing – for me I wish that were the case! Flow happens at select moments in time and when it does, it feels like the entire universe is in balance!
Thanks for your reply. Flow does seem to come out of the blue, but I try to have those moments more frequently by tricking myself into it!
